Meet Milo, a cuddly little moose in a green Alpine hat with a blue feather and an edelweiss. He sits on his mossy tree stump in a mountain meadow and plays a shiny golden French horn, his hoof pressing the real valves and his cheeks puffing out on every note. Shelly, a pink snail whose shell is a tiny curled-up horn, glides along the moss beside him and toots along. Toddlers French Horn turns your phone or tablet into a real-sounding French horn made for small hands. Every touch makes music, so even the youngest players succeed from the very first tap. PLAY Eight smiling mushrooms grow in the moss, each one a note of Milo's horn: big ones for the low notes, little ones for the high ones. Tap a mushroom and Milo blows it, hold it and the note grows warmer, slide to the next mushroom to slide the note like a real horn player, and shake your finger for a vibrato. Every second note a forest friend comes to listen: a bunny, a squirrel, a hedgehog, a fawn, a marmot, a frog, a badger and an owlet. When all eight are there, the forest festival begins! Every note is a real recorded French horn. Record your own tune and play it back, and try more sounds: the echo horn that the mountains answer, bouncy horn, stopped horn, alphorn, magic horn and post horn. REAL HORN A big golden horn with three rotary valves. Hold the lips to buzz a note, press the valves to change it and rest a hoof in the bell for the soft stopped sound, just like a horn player. A chart shows how to play the scale, and Milo can play you a horn call. SONGS 26 songs, from Morning Mood, In the Hall of the Mountain King and The Carnival of Venice to Ode to Joy, Jingle Bells and Milo's own Morning Call, each with its own band, from royal fanfares, marches and polkas to waltzes, swing and gentle lullabies. • Magic mode: any mushroom plays the next note, so your child sounds like a star at once. • Follow mode: the right mushroom glows, so little musicians learn the melody. • Listen mode: Milo and the band play the whole song. BAND Play with the forest orchestra on its log stage under the lanterns: timpani, trumpet, violin, tuba and accordion. Pick one of ten grooves and every mushroom fits. Tap the big FANFARE! button and Milo blows a royal fanfare over the band, and add ten horn tricks with one tap, from an echo and a cuckoo to a yodel, a rip and a big finish. GAMES In Good Morning, Forest! the friends are still asleep: play the morning song and every line wakes one up while the sun climbs over the mountains. In Peekaboo Forest a friend hides in a rustling bush: play the mushroom of its colour to find it. Repeat Shelly's tunes in Copy Shelly, and tell high from low with the cuckoo clock and Bruno the bear's tuba in High or Low? LULLABIES Milo dozes on his stump in the moonlit valley while little bunnies hop home across the meadow, counted one by one, and a soft horn plays lullabies with harp and a music box. A sleep timer slowly fades the music out.
