OnStar Safety & Security Members receive the OnStar Guardian™ app as part of their plan. If you don’t own a GM vehicle, you can try it for up to 3 months on us, and after that, it is only $15 a month.
Plus, you can share these benefits with up to 7 family members at no additional cost.

- Crash detection that can send for help — even if you or your family can’t ask for it.
- Smartphone sensors can detect a crash and alert an OnStar Advisor.
Roadside Assistance
- Less worry they’ll be stranded. Your family can get help on the road, a battery charge, help with a flat tire — even get fuel if they run out of gas.
Emergency Services
- Help when they need it. The red Emergency button provides access to an OnStar Emergency-Certified Advisor 24/7.
- With Google Assistant™ enabled, get help with simple voice commands such as “Hey Google, call help using OnStar Guardian.”
Location Status
- Togetherness, even apart. The family locator that gives you departure and arrival notifications, a live map, and more.

Service coverage varies with conditions and location. Service availability, features and functionality vary by device and software version. OnStar Guardian service plan (standalone plan, add-on plan or plan that includes the service), cell reception, GPS signal, and device data connection required. Terms apply. Eligible customers who associate an approved payment method with their account and authorize recurring payments for their service plan within 30 days of activating their 1-month OnStar Guardian trial will receive 2 additional months of that plan at no additional charge. At the end of your trial and the first 2 months of your plan, OnStar will automatically bill the payment method on file monthly at then-current standard monthly rates. Customers with a preexisting OnStar or connected services plan are excluded from this offer. Plans may be canceled at any time by pushing the blue OnStar button or calling 1.888.466.7827. May not be combined with other offers or retroactively applied. One-time redemption of offer per service plan or vehicle as applicable. Offer is subject to change.
