Meet Zuri, a giraffe bass player in a purple beret and a striped scarf, who plays her big wooden double bass on the African savanna with her friend Momo the monkey and can't wait to play with your child! Toddlers Double Bass turns your phone or tablet into a real-sounding double bass made for small hands. Every touch makes music, so even the youngest players succeed from the very first tap. PLAY Play a giant double bass lying across the watering hole, with big giraffe-patch spots for the notes. Tap a spot to pluck the strings and watch them shake. Hold it and the note rings on, wiggle your finger for vibrato, or slide to the next spot and the note glides there, like on a real bass without frets. Knock on the wooden body for a drum. Every note is a real recorded double bass. Play a little tune and pause: Momo answers on his kalimba! Record your own tune and play it back. Try more sounds: bowed bass, slap bass, electric bass, cello, kalimba and the boing bass. REAL DOUBLE BASS A big double bass with its four real strings, E, A, D and G. Press a string on the neck to choose a note, then pluck it over the body or bow it near the bridge. Play the open strings, or tap Show me the scale and watch the finger move from note to note. SONGS 26 songs, from Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star and When the Saints Go Marching In to The Entertainer, The Carnival of Venice and Zuri's Savanna Walk, each with its own band under the baobab tree: a street parade, ragtime, swing, bossa nova, calypso, rockabilly, West African highlife and more. • Magic mode: any spot plays the next note, so your child sounds like a star at once. • Follow mode: the right spot glows, so little musicians learn the melody. • Listen mode: Zuri and the band play the whole song. BAND Your child is the bass player in a real band of drums, piano, guitar and trumpet on the baobab stage. Choose a groove (swing, rockabilly, highlife, afrobeat, reggae, funk, bossa nova, tango, mambo or jazz waltz) and every spot fits. Tap the big hoofprint button and Zuri walks a real walking bass line, one step per tap. Add double bass tricks with one tap: ta-da, slap, a bwoom slide, an elephant, a heartbeat, Momo's kalimba, a boing, a big finish and more. GAMES In Stepping Stones every tap plays the next note of a song and a little savanna animal hops across the river to its mum, on stones that stand high or low just like the notes. In Beat Walk every tap is one of Zuri's long-legged steps, in time with the drum: keeping a steady beat is the bass player's job. Repeat Zuri's melodies in Copy Me, and tell high from low with Momo's kalimba and the hippo's deep bass in High or Low? LULLABIES Zuri falls asleep in the grass of the starry savanna while a bowed double bass plays lullabies with harp, strings and a music box. A sleep timer slowly fades the music out.
