Is your phone stuck in headphone mode? It shows the headphone icon, but nothing is plugged in, and you cannot hear calls, videos or music from the speaker. This usually happens when water, moisture, dust or lint gets into the headphone jack or the USB-C port, so Android keeps detecting earphones that aren't there. Speakr automatically detects when media is playing and sends it to the phone speaker (or the earpiece) until the port is fixed. Your calls stay just as they are: phone calls, VoIP calls (like WhatsApp and Telegram) and voice notes work normally, with no change to how they sound. WHAT IT DOES • Shows if your phone is in headphone mode even though no earphones or headphones are plugged in • Turn on Speaker mode to play videos, music and games from the phone speaker as a workaround • Turns the speaker on only while media plays, and steps aside for phone calls, VoIP calls and voice notes (like WhatsApp and Telegram) • Turn on Earpiece mode to listen through the earpiece in quiet places • Stays on in the background, with a notification and a Quick Settings tile to switch it off • Use the Sound check to test the speaker, the earpiece, and the left and right channels • Provides simple tips to clear a stuck headphone mode, like re-plugging, cleaning and drying the port HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT CAN DO • No app can repair a damaged port or hide the headphone icon. If the tips do not help, the port needs a repair. Use Speaker mode until then. • During a phone call or a VoIP call (like WhatsApp or Telegram), the calling app controls the audio. To use the speaker, tap the speaker button on the call screen. • Speakr only checks what kind of sound is playing, like media or a call. It never listens to the audio itself.
