Steel Tongue Drum turns your phone or tablet into a realistic steel tongue drum, also known as a tank drum or hank drum. Strike the tongues and hear warm, ringing steel that beats, sings and fades like a real handmade drum. Play freely, learn step by step, play along with songs, or let the drum play itself and simply relax. Version 3 is a completely new app, rebuilt from the ground up. ◆ A DRUM THAT FEELS REAL • Every tongue rings, beats and fades like steel; where you strike changes the loudness • Neighboring tongues ring along softly (sympathetic resonance), as on a real drum • Rest a finger on a tongue to damp it, or turn Sustain on and let everything ring • Rolls, glissandos and one-touch chords that follow your tuning • Seven voices: steel with mallets, steel with fingers, crystal, deep tank drum, wooden tongue drum, the classic sound of the first app, and handpan ◆ 76 TUNINGS, ANY KEY • 12 tongue drums as they are sold: Major, Akebono, Pentatonic, Kurd and more • 64 handpan scales: Kurd, Celtic, Hijaz, Pygmy, Amara and many others • Every tuning in all 12 keys, from 8 to 15 tongues • Cut your own tuning: choose a note for every tongue, with or without a center tongue • Optional A = 432 Hz tuning ◆ RELAX MODE • Let the drum play gentle, endless melodies on its own, for relaxation or meditation • Soft sound beds: rain, ocean, wind, a forest stream and a summer night • Sleep timer for 15, 30 or 60 minutes ◆ LEARN AND PLAY ALONG • 30 lessons, from your first strokes to rolls, chords and odd meters • 60 songs: classical, folk, world, holiday songs, lullabies and meditative pieces • Listen first, then play along: the next tongue lights up and waits for you • 12 backing grooves and a metronome ◆ RECORD AND SHARE • Record your playing, play it back and share it as audio or MIDI ◆ MAKE IT YOURS • Seven finishes: Midnight, Copper, Sakura, Bronze, Galaxy, Jade and Obsidian • Note names as letters, Do Re Mi or numbers • A mixer to balance the drum, the backing grooves, the metronome and the sound beds • Left-handed (mirrored) layout, portrait and landscape Steel Tongue Drum works offline. It is free to play with banner ads; rewarded ads can unlock a single sound, tuning, song, lesson or finish until you close the app. A single optional purchase, Steel Tongue Drum Pro, unlocks everything for good and removes the ads.
